    AT&T High Speed Internet Update

posted Apr 12, 2012, 6:29 AM by Dawn Cheadle

It is finally official, the Village of Lockbourne will be getting high speed internet before the end of the year.  The paper work has been signed; however, we do need to keep signing those petitions, located in the post office and at Cline’s Corner, just incase they are needed at a later time.  This is exciting news for the village as high speed internet is something that is vital to the education of our children, ability to attract new business and to keep up with ever changing technology.

Deployment of high speed internet, by AT&T will be carried out in two separate phases.

Phase one will include the installation of fiber optic technology to link to the cell tower that serves Lockbourne, this should better the cell phone service within the village.

The second phase will  consist of bringing high speed internet to Lockbourne!  The second phase should be completed by the end of 2012.

This was confirmed , in person, by David Kandell, Director of External Affairs for AT&T.  This news was announced March 2nd during a council meeting.

Franklin County Commissioner John O’Grady & State Representative Michael Stinziano were very diligent in making this happen.   We are all truly grateful for their determination to help Lockbourne get the services and technology that our village desperately needs.

This issue has been a huge irritation for many residents within the village.  Thanks to the hard work of council members, LEDA members, John O’Grady and Mike Stenziano this issue has been taken care of and residents will have the technology that has been needed for so long.
